With the feminist movement we hung up our aprons by their apron strings and headed out of the kitchen and into the work field. That is fine and dandy~ROAR~ but maybe, just maybe in the heart of every woman she wants to be feminine while being productive and that is why the apron is making a comeback. While it is still nostalgic, it holds no repressed connotations like it has in the past. To answer your question, I wear mine, but I think we all know I am not repressed. I feel empowered and connected to my heritage. :) (I hope I don't lose readers with that philosophy...)Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03994629131573825710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36031226.post-47478705450667733822008-01-29T12:11:00.000-06:002008-01-29T12:11:00.000-06:00The real answer lies within...The real answer lies within...Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03994629131573825710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36031226.post-64836958340173178852008-01-29T08:34:00.000-06:002008-01-29T08:34:00.000-06:00I can tell I am related... Though I like the snotty nose and pink cheeks feelings, given how rare they are down here.

Anyway, I have a question about aprons: Are yours designed primarily for fashion or utility? I have noticed a trend among many female peers who don't have a lick of ability in the kitchen but make sure they own/prominently display a "cute" apron. Even better, they refuse to wear it when actually cooking in order not to ruin it.

So are these modern/retro aprons designed to be used and loved, or just displayed? This has been bothering me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
