New Year

I know you've heard this one from me before, but I'll say it again, this year's resolution:

"to keep in touch". Not only on my blog, but checking my email, returning phone calls...answering the phone, remembering birthdays, etc, etc. It's a focused effort this year, so watch this resolution change me. :)

I finished a good book. The Lace Makers of Glenmara.

It was a cute story. It was a story of hope and promise. Not a promise of a happy ending tied up with a bow on a perfect package, but a promise of life. That life will go on, you will rise again and you will fall again. Tragedy and joy both strike, so you have to enjoy and endure, but what matters is the relationships you develop as you travel the journey of life.

I liked it. It was my summer read. Yes, I started it July 4th weekend. I intended to have a light story to enjoy for the rest of the summer. I didn't realize it would take me till next year to finish it. It's funny I really love fiction, but I end up reading so much nonfiction in between actually finishing the novel. Do any of you ADD read like me? I have 7 books going at a time. Most people tuck a book in their bag and tote it with them wherever they go. No, not me. I need a bag specifically for the numerous books I try and tote.
My next fiction interest are Eat, Pray, Love and Committed by Elizabeth Gilbert. Maybe I'll get them in
CD format and listen to them in the car and actually finish them the same year I start them? "Novel" idea?

Oh wow, I was going to say exactly what Anonymous said but I guess he beat me to it.

Eat, Pray, Love is fabulous and I'm reading Committed right now. Actually I lost it somewhere in my house but as soon as I find it, it's on!

Glad to see you in cyberspace again!
